Do This
Do this! A collection of suggestions provided by staff and readers on things to do in the very immediate future. It's not a complete list, but suggestions from us. Have an event you would like to see here? Send us an email.
When I was a kid one of my favorite things we did every year was go to this big rodeo in Sikeston, Missouri. Everyone in my family rode horses, but we just rode - no tricks, nothing fancy. Going to the rodeo is an event, and if you've never been to one, you should give it a try. It's good to venture out of our comfort zones sometimes. We've got a really big rodeo - the biggest Nighttime one in Kansas - happening in our own backyard. Call 620-459-4653 or email

Ok quick dual purpose Cody's Thoughts this morning because I just went
to downtown Hutch and Downtown Hutch is at this exact moment serving a
dual purpose role.
I went downtown to
check out the Hutchinson Ks Farmer's Market and got to mosey around and
see Hutch Fest starting to wake up a little bit.
Ok the Farmer's Market is way cooler than I thought it was...
Just in case you were wondering
what you have planned for Saturday night…I’ve got the event for
you! This Saturday, June 28 is the 4th annual Great
American Backyard Campout.
Dillon Nature Center is 100 acres, with more than 3 miles of trails that
wind through prairie and woods, past ponds and marshes. Some of the
trails are paved and some are more natural. It's a National Urban
Wildlife Sanctuary, and lives up to that designation. You'll see turtles,
ducks and who knows what else on a walk there.
You can fish in the pond, have a picnic on the grounds, or check out the
visitor's center with a whole collection of critters. You think you're
too old to watch the bees? I think not. Some things are just always cool,
and that's one of them.
