I first tried this slaw at a Christmas dinner. It was one of the first things to vanish it was so good. By the end of the day I was copping the recipe for all my family. I hope you like it as much as we do. This side dish is a great compliment to any of your up coming holiday meals.
Ingredients:
4 cups shredded cabbage
2 cups shredded carrots
2 med. Golden Delicious apples (diced)
1 cup raisins
½ cup chopped walnuts
Dressing :
½ cup honey
1 Tbs. lemon juice
1 cup sour cream
¼ tsp. salt
1/8 to ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg.
What to do:
Mix all your slaw ingredients first.
In a separate bowl stir together your dressing and pour over slaw mix and stir making sure slaw is evenly coated. (you can mix your dressing in advance and pour over just before serving this works well if you’re traveling with this dish.)
And that’s it. So easy!
Serve it up:
This could be served anytime of year but with its nutty background it is perfect with your holiday turkey.
