Almost Gourmet with AJ - Spin Dip PDF Print E-mail

So this is by far my favorite way to eat spinach and it is delicious.    The only fight I ever have with my kids over this one is who gets the last bite.   This recipe is simple and always the first to go at parties.

Ingredients:

  • 1pk frozen spinach thawed drained and squeezed dry.
  • 1 can chopped water chestnuts
  • 1 cup. Sour cream
  • ½ cup. Mayonnaise  (please don’t ruin this dish with miracle whip it has to be mayo.)
  • ¼  cup. Chopped red onion
  • ½ tsp seasoned salt
  • ½ tsp dried dill weed

What to do:
Mix all ingredients together and serve in hollowed out loaf of sourdough bread the crustier the better.  Use torn bread to dip with and  extra bread on back up is always a good plan.  Besides when the dip is gone you can eat the bowl.  Yum!

Serve it up:
Serve this cold and make it anytime even the night before.  But don’t put in bread until just before serving.

Change it up:
No need this has already been perfected.

So, who's having the party so we can make this? Perhaps at the next YP mingle? I also really like hot artichoke and spinach dip. Or dill dip and rye bread. It's not the season but maybe I'll post my famous panini sandwiches - full of all the things I'm not supposed to be eating - like havarti, dill and roast beef - or brie - man I miss that! Just talking about it is making my mouth water....Ok - I at least need some chips and dip now...

Hey, you don't have to wait for a party. Just whip some up and pop in a movie.
Thanks
I would love to read your panini recipe!

I am glad you liked it. In fact I just stirred up a batch myself. Thanks for posting!
