This Saturday and Sunday the Gridiron Gladiators, ages 3rd grade through 6th grade, will be playing their bowl games at Gowans Stadium. If you haven't seen them play yet, you should go check it out. It's great. Third graders playing football can be more entertaining than high school, college and pro, sometimes.
We caught up with a few Hutch High football players who had previously participated in their younger years, and thought we'd take some goofy pics for fun.
As we talked about it a little bit, the high school guys didn't have much to reflect upon. They argued over which of the two Gridiron Gladiators teams represented would have won had they played each other and they mentioned that Gowans Stadium was not nearly as nice when they got to play there. Senior Defensive Lineman Forrest Stucky mentioned that his main memory of the games as a Grade Schooler was "Being excited about getting snacks afterward".

The 3rd graders in the photo got a kick out of getting to meet and get a picture with the guys they watch on Friday nights and the Big Guys were nice enough to take the time to talk to them. We highly recommend you stop at Gowans this weekend and check out some kids playing football in a stadium that is truly larger than life to them. The bowl games this weekend are a fundraiser for the YMCA youth football program, it's $2 for adults and $1 for kid to get in and we guarantee it's gonna be entertaining. We would love for the community to really step out come enjoy this event as well as offer a little support to the little guys and the program.
