Prosperity Elementary School had a Lap-A-Thon, a fundraiser that didn't require them to sell anything other than their time and energy. The Lap-A-Thon took place on October 3rd.
Students took pledges to sponsor them to - you guessed it - do laps.
Aside from raising money for the school, the students were given another incentive. Provided they reached a goal of $12,000, their principal, Mr. Doerksen, would spend a day on the roof. Well, they raised well over that - $14,179, which is actually $3,000 more than they raised by their last fundraiser. It just goes to show that anything is possible with the right incentive.

Congratulations to the children of Prosperity Elementary School for exceeding the goal, and to teachers for providing a creative motivation.
