I've returned from Tucson. I don't know if you're anything like me, but few things make you appreciate Hutchinsons quite as much as being somewhere else for a week.
Then again, I've never been to Hawaii.
My mom's surgery has been postponed. A basic procedure performed to prep her for the surgery on last Monday caused her to have a very minor stroke. She's fine. The stroke only did a little damage her her balance, but they say it's nothing that a few days in physical therapy won't fix. Her surgery is going to be sometime after the first of the year, which means I get to make another trip to the wonderful world of Tucson.
Here's to hoping that I've got enough money scraped together to fly this time. I absolutely cannot stand driving through New Mexico, yet find myself having to do so at least once a year.
Naturally, I've got some pictures for you!
This is me and my little brother, Wesley. He's freaking 15 now! Blows my mind.
This little fella here is called a Javelina. They run wild in Tucson. They're like a cross between a rat and a wild boar. Kind of like if you took all of the bad characteristics of each and mashed them together.
Here are miscellaneous pictures of mountains and whatnot

Of course, I'm always thinking about a stop at the Wigwam hotel in Holbrook Arizona on the whole trip, so maybe that influences me. Glad to hear your mom didn't have any serious issues from the stroke. It's amazing what modern medicine can do for us these days. ![]() 11-04-2008 08:42, , Registered Looking forward to the High Life, Dan. You are, without a doubt, The Man. It is amazing what medicine can do, and we're very fortunate that my mother has an amazing surgeon who even calls to check on her when he's not in the hospital. I had the chance to meet him, and he's a great guy. Patsy, I guess the reason I can't stand driving through New Mexico is because I have to pass through there to get to El Paso every year, and, recently had to start driving through there to get to Tucson. So basically, New Mexico is this massive obstacle between me and my destination pretty much ALL THE TIME. That, and I'm just not much of a desert fan. I can go to Colorado and see mountains, and I think it's much better. |
