If you've never been to Wilson Lake, now is a great time to check it out, even if boating season is about over.

No crowds, no ticks, no skeeters.

These photos were taken last Labor Day weekend. I know, they are pretty old by now (hey, I've been busy), but just picture the lake without all of these boats on it.

On this day, I was hiking through the Rocktown Natural Area, 300 acres of trails, rolling prairie and weird rock formations, many of which can't bee seen from the lake.

On the other hand, a boat would be a good way to get to some of them, as hiking around some of the remote coves can be a very lengthy process.

If you want to read more about the area, check out this story I wrote for The Hutchinson News last month.
Happy trails!

I'm your biggest fan, Greg Wood. I really love your weird rock faces. Do you do those in Photoshop? Or do those creatures really live in KS?

Love Rock Town! Very beautiful. And loads of great rocks. Love the petroliferous ones near the park entrance and petrified wood and the fossils...all amazing.
