Now read this whole article EVEN if you don’t like musicals!  My husband was out of town this last weekend, my kids and grandkids were on a mission to catch up on work and to start a remodeling project of my granddaughter’s bedroom and one of my closest friends who likes movies was working Saturday so I was really by myself.

I Was Surrounded by the Best Today PDF Print E-mail

Just wanted to share an experience with you that really made me think we all need to stop and appreciate the teachers and educators of our children and grandchildren a whole bunch.  I have always respected them and for several reasons.  First of all, I wanted to be a teacher. I was enrolled at Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska to be an English teacher and then backed out and went to business college instead but lots of my friends went on to be great teachers.

I had to make a “life change” about 12 years ago and that was to move to a different house – it was my choice and I was kinda excited about it and had my own ideas and thoughts about it but one of the most important things about it was it had to be in a good neighborhood.

I’ve talked a lot about raising children, and I think I’d be better at it now than I was when I was doing it – (most grandparents will tell you that!).  It’s a hard job, one of the hardest you’ll ever have and definitely the most important one you’ll ever have.

I had WAY too much time on my hands in Topeka this week as I trekked up there with my husband as he attended judicial meetings and I always look forward to shopping, reading, walking and just getting away.  I did just that, finished three books, hit the malls and thought a lot. 

 

First of all, I was amazed at how empty the malls were and how great the sales were ...
