The Red Cross "Battle of The Badges" starts today!!
You can go give Blood and vote for Law Enforcement or Firefighters and which ever side gets the least amount of votes has to wash some vehicles for the other side.
Well, welcome to 2009. Do you feel different? I don't, but we're only two days into it.
I hope everyone had a nice, safe holiday packed with fun and family and NOT BREAKING WINDOWS.
We at What's Up Hutch? want to thank all of our readers sincerely for making 2008 so much fun for us. You helped us take our little idea for a web site and turn it into something that is (we think) worthwhile for us and our readers. We promise to do everything we can to help make 2009 an even better year!
Amidst the firestorm of controversy surrounding Rob Blagojevich's charges of attempting to profit from essentially selling Barack Obama's newly vacant Senate seat, Senate Democrats have refused to seat anybody nominated by the Illinois governor. Despite expressed disapproval of any decision made by the disgraced politician and requests by all 50 members of the Democratic Caucus to step down, Blago nominated Roland Burris earlier this week.
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said that, although Burris may be qualified, they cannot and will not give the position to anyone nominated by Blagojevich. He is quoted as saying the choice to go ahead and appoint Burris to the job is "unfair" and "regrettable."
