Ok I know a bunch of you are on Facebook already so this little tech tip isn't geared towards you, go back and check out the sweet Cars from The Rod Run here.
Oh and click here to get info on our event this weekend.
If you have heard of Facebook but don't get it, or just never heard of it...
I am gonna type a bunch of stuff about it immediately after this sentence so... your choice to go on from here.
Facebook is a social networking website!
Ok social networking is no different on the web or at a bar... it's just a place for you to go and meet old/new friends and either form new relationships or revive old ones. You can even just use it to stay better in touch with folks you already stay in pretty good contact with.
It allows you to find friends several different ways, my favorite right now is using my High School Name and graduation year to check and see if any of my old classmates are on Facebook. I have found several of them that live all over the world and it's a guarantee that without something like this on the internet we would have never been in contact again, most likely. The other most popular way to find friends is by looking at your currents friends other friends.
Whew!!
Example: If you and I are friends and I have found a person that we both know, but you haven't connected with them yet in Facebook, you can see them in my friends list and request that you guys also become friends.
Ok I just read back through the whole thing I just wrote and it confused me.
Just go try Facebook, I guarantee that if you are willing to revisit some old relationships with some old friends, you will find some of them there. Not to mention you can join the "Friends Of Whatsuphutch" Facebook group and you never know what kinda fun you might have there.
*** Might just be some special offers for "Stuff" for members of our Facebook group in the near future. If you already have a facebook account, click here to join our group, if not, click here to get an account so you can join our group.
Use the comments to voice your opinion on Facebook or ask any questions about it and we will get them answered.

![]() 10-08-2008 16:04, , Registered That's like saying "Wait a second, buddy. You can't come into this restaurant until you get on your cell phone and tell three friends to come to this restaurant." So I don't use any Facebook applications. It's just spam in a different form. As far as staying in touch with old friends and all that goes, it's excellent. So is Myspace, though, if you don't get too hung up on "pimping your profile". It's really just a glorified email account for me. Now Myspace, in all their infinite wisdom thought "Wow, people like Facebook better than us. What can we do about it?" Their solution: they now have applications that you can play, which spam all of your friends. Ugh. Let's just get this out in the open right now: No, I will not join your Pirate Ninja Rockstar Mafia. Ever. I don't care about the yacht you just "bought" on it. ![]() 10-08-2008 17:56, , Registered That said, I use Facebook almost religiously - just not all the crap that other people put on it. |
