Back to the top to remind you about Veterans Day on the 11th. Thanks for the reminder, Bob!

This year the Hutchinson Civitan Club is proud to announce a new service for the Hutchinson Community. We believe that in honoring our country by flying the flag, we continue a proud patriotic tradition acknowledging our shared bonds and strengthening our city’s ties.

We will install and erect an American flag in your yard on the six major flag holidays each year. We will remove the flag and pole in the evening. This will be a standard 3’ X 5’ flag and will be flown on a nine ft. pole in your yard. The reasonable donation for this service is only $30.00 per year.

The Dates for Year 2009 are:

May 25 -- Memorial Day                              June 14 -- Flag Day
July 4 -- Independence Day               September 7 -- Labor Day
October 12 -- Columbus Day         November 11 -- Veterans Day

Any date missed because of bad weather, including Labor Day, will be made up on September 11. The two (2) dates after that will not be made up.

Your support of this fundraiser will help us continue to fund some of the many projects which our club supports within the Hutchinson community such as Three HCC Scholarships, Kansas Boys & Girls State, TECH, Reins of Hope, Salvation Army, Girls Softball Team, New Beginnings. Many other services will also benefit from these funds.

Below is a PDF version of the content above, as well as the necessary form to fill out if you are interested in this service.

OK this is a sweet freaking program, honestly you should tell everyone you know about this. I don't live in town or I would be all over this.

I think this is a very cool idea for a fundraiser, and is giving something back to the community. I'm not an overly patriotic person, but I applaud the idea and the concept of giving the community a way to join together. I think it will be great to see flags all over town on these days. And I'm putting my money where my fingers are typing. My check is going in today's mail. My virtual hat is off to you because this is going to take some effort. Thanks for doing something cool for the community.
