| On Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., former astronaut Winston Scott will be at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center to lecture and sign copies of his book, “Reflections from Earth Orbit,” published in July of 2005.
Scott was the second African-American astronaut and flew aboard space shuttle missions STS 72 in 1996 and STS 87 in 1997. During his two flights he logged 24 days, 14 hours in space and completed three spacewalks. Scott’s book is about his life as told through his personal reflections, prompted by events that occurred during his two space missions as a NASA astronaut. It tells the story of how he achieved his dreams through hard work and perseverance. Scott’s book will be available for purchase in the Cosmosphere’s Cargo Bay Gift Shop. The lecture is open to the general public and free with paid admission to the museum. Cosmosphere members may attend this event free of charge. |
